Entomologist. Born 1884 in Indiana, B.A. (1909) and M.A. (1912) degrees from Pomona College. Secretary to the California State Horticulture Commission (1911-1914); faculty member at UC Berkeley. Studied aphids. Member, Fellow, and Research Associate of the California Academy of Sciences. Also served as Academy's Corresponding Secretary (1948-1953). Died on November 23, 1964.
